"Come let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker." Psalm 95:66
It has been said that “worship is the one thing the Church can do which the culture cannot do.” Worship defines who we are as children of God as we come before Him in adoration and praise, and offer ourselves in service to the work of God's Kingdom.
Worship is at the center of who we are and what we do at Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. Everything else that we say and do flows out of our experience of worship together. In worship we are the people of God gathered together in the presence of God, and nothing is of greater importance as we grow together as Fully Devoted Followers of Christ.
For the Greater Glory of God!
Worship is the central act of the people of God. And so it is at Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church, where the Word of God and Sacraments are central to our worship services. Our worship is rooted in ancient church worship and yet seeks to integrate those things which can speak effectively to our 21 st century context.
Our prayer is that all can come and find through our worship the transformational power of Jesus Christ.
We celebrate worship each Lord's Day (Sunday) at 10:00 a.m. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Baptisms are conducted during the worship services where the entire congregation participates. All of our worship services feature a Time with Young Disciples, where our youngest worshipers come forward and sit with the pastor for a learning experience targeted especially for them.
Along with our regular Sunday services, we offer special opportunities for worship on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunrise, Sunday evenings during the Lenten Season. During Advent and Christmas we offer a Hanging of the Greens, Children's Christmas Pageant and special music by our Chancel Choir.
We invite you to join us in worship this week! You will find a warm welcome!
