Rev. Dr. Ron G. Tippens

Ron was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and raised in Georgia. He attended Wheaton College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He then studied at Duke University Divinity School where he earned his Master of Divinity. Ron continued with graduate study at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia where he received a Master of Arts in Christian Education and a Doctor of Ministry degree. He has served on staff of the First Presbyterian Church, Burlington, NC; pastor of Back Creek Presbyterian Church, Mt. Ulla, NC; pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Maxton, NC; and is currently in his twentieth year of service to Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC. Ron describes his calling to be a Minister of Word and Sacrament as “one of the greatest joys in his life.”
