“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into His presence with singing!” Psalm 100:1-2

The Church Musician's Prayer
O Lord, grant to us understanding so that the truths we sing
with our lips will live in our hearts and manifest themselves in
our daily lives through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church's Music Ministry provides opportunities for worship, service, and education while glorifying God through music. Participants experience the joy of fellowship and the satisfaction of knowing they offer a meaningful service to the church of Jesus Christ. Whether you consider yourself a musical novice or professional, you can express and develop your talents here.

Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church's Music Ministry includes the following:

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearses at 7:30 on Wednesday evenings in the Choir Room of the Sanctuary. They meet at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning to prepare for Morning Worship.

Each October, the Chancel Choir makes its annual retreat to the Montreat Conference Center in Black Mountain, N.C. where the choir spends the weekend rehearsing music for the Lessons and Carol service.

The Chancel Choir presents a Worship Service of Lessons and Carols each year during Advent at the 10:00 a.m. service. The service also features a Brass Quartet.

During the Season of Lent and Easter, the Chancel Choir presents a program of Easter Music accompanied by a String Quartet and Organ.

The Chancel Choir sponsors two fundraisers. The Spaghetti luncheon is held in August and the Chili Supper is held in January. Funds raised from the Spaghetti Luncheon help to defer some of the trip to Montreat. Funds raised from the Chili Supper will be used to purchase a new piano for the Choir Room.

Praise Team

The ARPC Praise Team under the direction of elder Sandy Blackwelder meets for practice on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. This group enjoys singing, praying and fellowshipping together. The Praise Team leads praise time each week during Sunday Morning Live!
