A personal word from Ron Hill, our Choir Director :
As Choir Director, I feel that the music offered to the glory of God should be of the finest quality. It must be prepared to perfection and excellently performed. There are two sermons each Sunday. One is the spoken word delivered by the Pastor and the other is the "musical sermon" delivered by the Choir. Both must up-lift and inspire the congregation to a closer relationship to Christ. I invite you to become a part of our musical ministry and help us glorify the risen Lord.
A personal word from Tim Brown, our Organist:
I began my ministry at ARPC in 1981 and have seen our church mature musically over the years. People in churches continually argue over contemporary or traditional music. Yet a truly mature church will focus on the music worshiping God. The time period music was written, or what style is portrayed is not important. ARPC has a grand organ to lead the worship with hymns and exit to festive postludes. They have developed a Praise Team to lead worship with the praise of today's composers. The Choir sings both contemporary and traditional anthems. There is a wonderful grand piano in the Sanctuary as well as electronic keyboards and instruments to use when they are appropriate. The people of God are called to worship in community. The music at ARPC is always and only centered on the worship of God.
A personal word from Sandy Blackwelder, our Praise Team Director:
“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” These words, though written so many years ago, still ring true. And never so true as during Sunday Morning Live! where we start with a hot breakfast and then sing praises to our Lord and Savior. We are not professional singers, but we instead make a joyful noise and lead God's people in praise. Since our beginning we have grown from a handful of people to a dozen or more singers and instrumentalists with the hope of several more in the near future. We invite you to come and join us. Be a part of the Joy of the Lord and be strengthened. |
